From July 21 to 23, 2017, the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Otolaryngological Committee of Guangdong Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine was held in Shenzhen. The conference invited many well-known professors of otolaryngology in Chinese and Western medicine, including Wang Shizhen, Liu Daxin, Tianli, Guoyu, Shan Xizheng, Zhang Qingfeng, Ruan Yan and Liu Peng, to attend and give special lectures.

     At the meeting, Professor Guo Yu, the academic leader of the key specialty of Chinese medicine Otorhinolaryngology of the State Administration of Chinese Medicine, the vice-chairman of the Otolaryngology Branch of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the director of Otolaryngology of the Shanghai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, brought a special lecture entitled "The Dialectical Application of Chinese Patent Medicine in the Treatment of Pharyngeal Diseases". Professor Guo pointed out that the key points of dialectics were sore throat, thirst, cough and phlegm, swollen pharyngeal mucosa, red tongue and yellow fur. The main treatment should be clearing away heat and promoting pharynx. Houyanqing granules (oral liquid) and other medicines produced by the Sunshine Pharmaceutical Industry of the Times are recommended for treatment.

 

      Professor Tian Li, an expert who enjoys government subsidies of the State Council and a leader of Otolaryngology Department of traditional Chinese medicine, a key subject of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, raised his concerns about heavy metal pollution and pesticide residues in Chinese medicinal materials in his lecture. Fan Yi, Academic Director of Sunshine Pharmaceutical Industry of the Times, then introduced the characteristics of Houyanqing four medicinal herbs, Achyranthes bidentata, Malan grass, Plantago and Tianming, which were born in the countryside and sensitive to pesticides, and effectively avoided the problem of heavy metal pollution and pesticide residues.
